Jordin Sparks 16-Year-Old Step Sister Passes Away From Sickle Cell Anemia Complications

Prayers go out to Jordin Sparks who has had a truly difficult week.

The American Idol winner has revealed her heart is ‘heavy & broken’ after losing four people in just one week.

The 28-year-old paid a moving tribute to her friends and family who have passed away with a series of photos on Instagram.

Sparks tragically lost her 16-year-old step-sister Bryanna from complications due to sickle cell anemia.

Only soon after to lose her cousin Q, and close friends Leah LaBelle and her husband, former NBA basketball player Rasual Butler.

Butler and LaBelle died in a horrific collision in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning.

‘Four angels in a week. My heart is just so heavy & broken,’ she wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram. ‘I’m in shock, numb and feel everything all at the same time.’

‘Leah & Rasual (one of my closest friends and her amazing partner), Bryanna (my step sister) and Q (my little cousin), you were such bright lights in this crazy world.’

Sparks’ step-sister Bryanna Jackson-Frias died Tuesday evening of complications with sickle cell anemia.

Hours before her death, the ‘Battlefield’ singer pleaded with fans to keep her little sister in their prayers.

‘You made everyone better just by knowing them,’ Jordin shared.

‘And your smiles made anyone’s day better. The world is less sparkly without you in it.’

‘Rest In Peace and Power. I love you forever. Find Miles and hug him for me. ♥️ Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.’

Miles is Jordin’s dog who died in December last year.

Although Q died this week, the singer didn’t specify further information surrounding his death.

‘Don’t ever skip a chance to tell someone you appreciate them or how much you love them.’

‘Please, please continue to cover their families and our family with thoughts and prayers. #unicornsdontdie #sicklecellsucks,’ she wrote.

The sad news comes just months after Jordin revealed she’s pregnant with her first child with new husband Dana Isaiah.

Sparks and Isaiah eloped in July during a small ceremony in Hawaii and later found out she’s expecting a baby boy due this spring.
