Bad things sometimes happen to good people.
At least that is what singer Jordin Sparks would be feeling right now after she lost her stepsister Bryanna Jackson-Frias.
Bryanna Jackson-Frias was just sixteen years of age when she passed away due to complications arising from a prolongs battle with sickle cell anemia.
The singer posted a picture of herself at the burial ceremony.
Jordin Sparks was pictured staring down at her step-sister’s coffin which was covered with flowers.
She captioned the pictures with the words, ‘Rest in peace, Bryanna’.
The burial ceremony for the Bryanna took place this past week with Jordin Sparks posting a picture from the somber ceremony.
Sickle cell anemia causes red blood cells to stick to vessel walls, which block blood flow blocking blood flow and preventing oxygen from reaching tissues.
The lack of oxygen can damage organs and cause pain so severe it requires hospitalization.
Although Bryanna Jackson-Frias was born to a different mother from Jordin’s mother, one would never have known with the way the pair acted around each other.
They were reportedly very close with Jordin Sparks giving her sister all of the support in the world throughout her battle with sickle cell anemia.
In fact, Bryanna’s death came barely a week after Jordin Sparks posted a picture asking her social media followers to support her sister with prayers.
It has been a despondent month for Jordin Sparks who also lost her longtime friends Leah LaBelle and Radial Butler in a car accident two weeks ago.
Jordin shared a photo on her Instagram story on Monday an emotional Instagram post that addressed the death of her sister and her two friends.
The American Idol winner wrote,
‘Four Angels in a week. My heart is just so heavy & broken. I’m in shock, numb and feel everything all at the same time. Leah & Rasual (one of my closest friends and her amazing another half who also was a great friend), Bryanna (my step-sister) and Q (my little cousin), you were such bright lights in this crazy world. You made everyone better just by knowing them. And your smiles made anyone’s day better. The world is less sparkly without you in it. Rest In Peace and Power. I love you forever. Find Miles and hug him for me. ♥️ Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Don’t ever skip a chance to tell someone you appreciate them or how much you love them. Please, please continue to cover their families and our family with thoughts and prayers. #unicornsdontdie #sicklecellsux’.
Jordan Sparks’ mother Jodi Jackson also participated in all of the tributes that were directed the way of the late Bryanna Jackson-Frias.
Even though Bryanna wasn’t her biological daughter, it was previous obvious that Bry had a close relationship with her stepmother.
Jodi Jackson wrote on Facebook,
‘Bry went peacefully to Heaven. I can’t help to think that she’s smiling just like this. Thank you all for your prayers’.
The family asks that in lieu of gifts, donations be sent to El Paso Children’s Hospital.
This sad news comes a few months after Jordin Sparks revealed that she secretly wed her boyfriend Dana Isaiah, 25, in mid-July.
Not only that, the newlyweds are expecting their first child together late next spring, according to PEOPLE.
