Beyonce fans rejoiced today after the singer dropped a new album of original songs.
Queen Bey has described The Lion King: The Gift – as a ‘love letter to Africa.”
Her seven-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter has also made her singing debut in her mom’s new song “Brown Skin Girl.”
The youngster’s inspiring lyrics include: “Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls, the best thing in the world, never trade you for anybody else.”
The song which features St Jhn, Wizkid encourages black women to love their own skin.
Beyonce and Jay Z’s oldest child opens and closes the song – which also celebrates fellow brown skin women such as Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Fans couldn’t contain their pride as they rushed to Twitter to celebrate the new anthem.
“Bursted out tears when I heard Blue Ivy Carter sing on ‘Brown Skin Girl.’ Wow her impact,” one fan tweeted.
“Blue Ivy taking the crown away Beyoncé on Brown Skin Girls,” another fan wrote.
“Beyonce said every single curve is beautiful braids and nappy curls. Your skin is pearls . Best thing in the world. Whew that was the energy boost we needed ladies. Blue ivy has spoken,” wrote an overwhelmed social media user.
“BLUE IVY CARTER’S ONLY SEVEN YEARS OLD & SHE ALREADY HAS A DISCOGRAPHY?!!!” a bewildered fan wrote.
Blue is also seen in the music video for Spirit, the official soundtrack for The Lion King.
The music video is set against an African backdrop with Beyoncé seen in the desert, in the midst of a real animal kingdom.
Her young daughter Blue Ivy looks adorable in a matching lavender gown, walking up to her mother just as the shot from The Lion King is featured.
It is where the young Simba (Donald Glover) steps into the larger footstep of his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones).
In the past Beyonce has said that Blue Ivy has a deep interest in music.
Beyonce’s Lion King album also features collaboration from Kendrick Lama, Childish Gambino, Jessie Reyez, Tierra Whack and Wale, and others.
The Lion King: The Gift is out today to coincide with the movie which hits theatres today.
