For Odelie Paret February 6th was like any other day.
The hard working mom-of-five cleaned 14 rooms at the luxury Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.
But Odelie got the surprise of her life when rap superstar Drake treated her to a $10,000 shopping spree!
The 63-year-old hotel maid is a mother-of-five from Haiti.
Her modest wage supports her daughter, grandson and whole family.
Drake treated Odelie to a massage at the hotel’s spa and a lobster dinner at a steakhouse.
After her dinner a car was waiting for her. She was whisked off to Saks Fifth Avenue in Brickell City Center.
After the store closed, a shocked Odelie was greeted by Drake.
The One Dance rapper was inspired by a story about the mom in the Herald’s newspaper last year.
Her commute to work can take up four hours of her day.
The tireless woman gets up at 4.30am each day and takes two buses to get to work.
Odelie moved to the US from Haiti about 20 years ago.
Her surprise was arranged by the Canadian rapper and Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, who grew up in Miami.
Odelie was given 45 minutes to buy whatever she wanted in Saks.
She opted for a pair of $800 comfortable shoes, a $2,000 Valentino handbag and four bottles of perfume.
Drake, born Aubrey Graham, kicked off his charitable streak on February 5.
He gave South Carolina student Destiny James a $50,000 check towards her tuition to the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.
The Grammy winner also stopped by Miami High School.
He donated a $25,000 check as well as school uniforms designed by his fashion label OVO.
Also on February 6, the generous hitmaker surprised shoppers at the Sabor Tropical Supermarket in Miami.
He spent $50,000 on groceries for them.
Later that day, Drake donated $50,000 to the Lotus House Shelter .
He passed out $150 Target gift cards to the homeless women as well as toys and games for the children.
He then treated a school basketball team to dinner and gave them all Nike LeBron James sneakers.
The Diplomatic Immunity artist was in Florida shooting the music video for his new single God’s Plan.
The song has topped both Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and R&B/Hip-Hop charts.
Odelie’s shopping spree will feature in the video. Her grandson told the overwhelmed woman: ‘Grandma, you’re a superstar!’
The rapper wrote on Instagram on Thursday: ‘Last 3 days were the best I have had in a very long time… there’s nothing like seeing people experience a joyful moment when you can tell they need it the most.’
