Top two essential oils to use when taking care of your skin:

1. Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender smells divine, but have you ever considered using it on your skin? If you answered no, now is the time to do so. Many use lavender oil to relax at the end of the day with some aromatherapy, while others use it to kill bedbugs and other household pests. However, lavender has various other benefits that can help your skin. If you struggle with oily skin and excessive acne, you can use lavender oil to help maintain the oil balance in your skin.

The lavender oil works by regulating the sebum in your skin, and as a result, you won’t have oily or dehydrated skin. Additionally, suppose you tend to strip your skin of its natural oils by washing it constantly or applying face masks daily. In that case, your skin will try and overcompensate by producing more oil than necessary. Therefore, instead of drying out your skin and causing more acne, you can just incorporate lavender oil into your routine.

You can make a toner at home. To do this, boil a cup of water and add a tablespoon of green tea leaves to the water. Let the tea steep for several minutes until it is pretty strong, then transfer the mixture to a spray bottle. Add several drops of lavender essential oil, and store the mixture in your fridge.

This homemade toner will last you for two to three weeks. Make sure that you keep it in the fridge when you’re not using it!

2. Tea Tree Essential Oil

The second essential oil that we’re recommending is tea tree oil. You might have already heard about this one, but tea tree oil has so many incredible benefits for your skin.

If you deal with acne regularly or have acne-prone skin, you might also have oily and irritated skin as well. Tea tree oil works wonders for those dealing with these problems. If you weren’t familiar with this essential oil, you might be interested to know that tea tree oil comes from an Australian tree called Melaleuca Alternifolia. Human beings worldwide have used this oil in their daily self-care and wellness practice for several decades.

You can use tea tree oil for various purposes, but in terms of skincare, it’s best known for its antibacterial properties. When you use it on your skin, you’ll find that you can treat various underlying problems and improve the way your skin looks.

You might not want to purchase an expensive product containing tea tree oil the first time you use it, and that is very understandable! Instead, you could buy a bottle of cold-pressed tea tree oil and use it to treat your skin at home.

Mix a few drops of tea tree oil in 350ml of water. Transfer this mixture to a spray bottle. When you apply the mixture to your face, you can soak a cotton ball or pad with the tea tree mixture and apply it to the affected parts of your face, such as those containing acne or acne scars.

The oil reduces the inflammation on your skin and helps heal your face and skin over time.

You can also use tea tree oil for cuts and scrapes, as a cleaner in your home, and when controlling dandruff or dry skin.

Conclusion

In this article, we took a look at two commonly used essential oils and how you can use them in your everyday skincare routine. We chose lavender and tea tree oil because you can easily find them in a drugstore or online. Both oils have multiple purposes and are affordable. We hope that when you do your daily skincare routine, you think of us!
