In a world where we a constantly fed bad news, this is something that will truly warm your heart.
A grieving widow was shown a much needed act of kindness when she went to a drive-thru to pick up her morning coffee.
The woman pulled up to the Dutch Bros. stand in Vancouver, Washington in tears.
After seeing the tearful woman – who is a regular customer – concerned baristas Pierce Dunn and Evan Freeman asked the woman what was wrong.
‘She’s was having a really bad day. Her husband passed,’ recounted Freeman.
‘As soon as she said that, I was like, ‘There’s nothing more you need to say. We got this. We’re going to do what we do every time we get someone who’s in pain or hurt. We’re going to give them our love.’
The busy baristas stopped everything they were doing and ignored the long line of caffeine addicted customers.
They offered the woman a free drink, reached their hands out and bowed their heads in powerful prayer.
A moved customer took the picture of the kind gesture with the image inspiring thousands online.
Thousands of people have praised the baristas for their generous actions however reluctant hero Pierce Dunn, 19, said: “If every single person … did an act of kindness and had a smile on their face every single day, the world would be a completely different place.”
Evan Freeman, 21, said he is not religious but prayed with the woman anyway in order to help her.
He said: ‘She could have said she wanted an apple, and I would have gone and planted a tree and grown her an apple. It just happened to be religion that she wanted.’
Meanwhile co-worker Pierce Dunn, 19, who served the woman, said he gave her free coffee and initiated the prayer.
Dunn said: ‘That moment was absolutely incredible. It was so emotional. She was crying. I shed a few tears. We’ve cried since as well. When something that real happens, it hits close to home.’
Dunn said he prayed that the woman would feel supported and loved, that God would provide peace and help the family mourn.
Freeman prayed the woman would trust brighter days will come.
Amen…
