The Soviets launched the satellite Sputnik in 1957. When he sees the satellite orbiting the sky, he is astounded and mesmerized, and he decides to pursue a career in rocketry. He insists he wants to be a rocket scientist.

In a place where he is supposed to simply take over his father’s job, he dreams of something so bold that no one believes him.

But he refused to give in. He and a like-minded pal begin building and launching miniature rockets. Their experiments were a failure. They try once more. Their experiments were a failure. They make an extra effort. They receive encouragement from their teacher, who gives them a book on rocket science.

4. A Beautiful Mind (2001)

Ramanujan is forced to leave his young wife, Janaki, and ends up in a world where his mostly instinctual ideas about numbers and his social skills clash with the harsh academic demands of his school and guide, as well as the prejudiced real world of Britain as it enters World War I.

Confronted with a family back home determined to keep him away from his wife and his own deteriorating health, Ramanujan joins forces with Hardy in a common effort that would distinguish Ramanujan as one of India’s most notable modern intellectuals who broke more than one barrier in his lifetime. This film is based on Robert Kanigel’s novel The Man Who Knew Infinity.
