A rising Nigerian singer and her infant daughter have been brutally murdered.
Ali Zainab Nielsen, aka Alizee, was shot dead alongside her 4-year-old daughter, Petra Nielsen.
They were both allegedly murdered Thursday morning by Ali’s Danish husband, Peter Nielsen, at their home in Banana Island, Lagos.
He has since been arrested.

A member of Alizee’s management team confirmed the tragic news.
“It’s really a shocking and sad development. We all woke up to the sad news of her death this morning, and to find out that the homicide was committed by her husband makes it all the sadder.’
‘The police has been brought in to the case and we’ll share more details as we get them.’

Alizee hails from Kogi State. She reportedly signed a two-year record deal with record label, Petra Entertainment in 2017.
The deal came with a brand new Ford Explorer, a house in Banana Island and international distribution with affiliates of her record company in Asia.

Alizee once told media outlet Vanguard about her success: ‘It’s been a long time coming and I’m really happy this deal came through. From now on it can and will only get better.’
The singer made her name in Lagos and had a single ‘Greenlight’ which features rapper Del B.

An autopsy of the late singer’s body suggests extreme violence led to her death.
A reporter from Punch News spoke to Lagos state police spokesperson, SP Chike Oti.
The autopsy was conducted at Lagos Island General Hospital.

‘On a closer examination, visible marks of violence were seen on the bodies. The corpses were photographed and taken to the Lagos Island General Hospital for autopsy.’
‘Meanwhile, letters have been sent to the Embassy of Denmark informing it that the Lagos State Police Command is investigating Mr. Peter Nielsen for an alleged case of murder.’
‘Further development will be duly communicated to the public,’ Oti said in a statement.
