Popular YouTube star, Desmond Amofah, better known by his online name of Etika, is missing after sharing a gut-wrenching video with his 133,000 followers.
The 29-year-old was last seen in Brooklyn on Wednesday – hours after he posted an eight-minute video in which he revealed he was suicidal.
Authorities have heartbreakingly confirmed they have discovered some of the Youtuber’s belongings near the side of the Manhattan Bridge.
According to The New York Post, Amofah’s wallet, cell phone and Nintendo Switch were all located in the area.
Fans have filled the star’s Instagram account pleading for his safe return.
Amoah currently has 254k followers on Instagram.
“Please be safe, we can’t lose you,” one devastated fan wrote under a picture taken on May 29.
“Don’t do anything bro we love you and don’t hurt yourself,” pleaded another concerned follower.
Amofah’s distressing “goodbye” video has since been taken down from YouTube. However it has been re-uploaded several times.
The gaming Youtuber is seen walking along, speaking into the camera he tell his audience: “I’m sorry I pushed you all away… I shouldn’t have pushed so many people away, now I’ve got nobody.”
“You know I wasn’t suicidal before – I really wasn’t. But one thing I didn’t realize was that the walls were closing around me so fast. I really had no intention of killing myself but I’d always push it too far.”
“I guess I am mentally ill,” he sadly concludes.
Amofah’s former girlfriend has told Inside Edition that the star has a history of mental illness, and was hospitalized as recently as April.
The woman – who dated the star from 2011 until 2017 – revealed the popular gamer has been hospitalized several times in the past.
But his social media is a complete contrast to the inner turmoil he was feeling. Pictures show Amofah smiling and enjoying time with his many friends.
Before he vanished, Amofah reacted to the latest episode of Attack on Titan.
