He plays the kind and charismatic detective on Luther.
And in real life Idris Elba is just as compassionate. The 46-year-old actor wasted no time helping a theatre-goer who suffered a seizure whilst watching him perform in his new play.
Amanda Billington was watching Elba in Tree on Wednesday in Manchester, England. Amanda, 33, has regular seizures due to an undiagnosed condition. She ended up having a fit in the audience during the performance.
It wasn’t until she regained consciousness she realised hunky Idris was by her side. The Thor: Ragnarok star stayed with her until paramedics were able to help.
Amanda, 33, told The Mirror: “I would love to thank him personally, but doubt I will cross paths with him, he’s very famous.”
Tree was co-created by the Hollywood actor and award – winning playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah. It will be shown at the Upper Campfield Market until July 13.
The show is facing controversy after Tori Allen-Martin and her writing partner, Sarah Henley, came forward to claim they created the show Tree. Martin spoke to the BBC to say they have been excluded from the project and are receiving no credit. Armah has denied this.
Meanwhile Idris’ new wife Sabrina, 29, gave fans another look at their wedding with unseen pictures.
The couple exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh in May surrounded by 150 of their friends and family.
The couple’s wedding was covered by British Vogue magazine.
Yesterday, Sabrina took to her Instagram page to reveal she wore more than one bridal gown.
The model looked breathtaking in the photos where she could be seen wearing a Grecian style white off the shoulder dress. The luxurious garment featured pleated detailing and a leg slit.
In another photo, the bride wore a stunning white gown with detailed gold trimmings and a flowing train.
Several of her Sabrina’s wedding party also posed for the snaps in similar outfits.
Beauty queen Sabrina completed her look for the day by styling her raven locks into loose waves.
Sabrina wore two exquisite dresses by Vera Wang for the wedding – a Bardot-style gown for the wedding ceremony and a pearl-embroidered number for the reception while male guests wore black tie.
Her make-up was done by British make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, while the photos were taken by prominent photographer Sean Thomas.
