Janet Jackson is simply one of most iconic performers in history. The superstar has sold more than 160m records and at 53 is still performing around the world.
But the Grammy-winning artist took a break from her busy schedule as she made a surprise appearance at the 2019 Pride of Britain Awards.
The prestigious event was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Monday.
Jackson looked chic in and sophisticated in a black top paired with a three-quarter-length coat and joggers.
The Rhythm Nation rocked a pair of black stiletto boots and accessorized with chunky gold chains and bracelets.
Her auburn curls were worn over one shoulder and the legendary singer looked youthful as she wore berry lipstick and a light pink blusher.

The yearly event honors the nation’s unsung heroes. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event.
The All For You singer was on hand to award Dame Elizabeth Anionwu with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Anionwu was the UK’s first sickle cell/thalassaemia nurse specialist. She helped to establish the Brent Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Counselling centre in the UK.
She was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2017 New Year Honours for her services to nursing.
Meanwhile, Jackson recently shared how challenging it was raising son Eissa Al Mana, who is now two.
“It is hard being a working mother. I don’t have a nanny, I do it all myself,” the Fame actress Stellar Magazine.
“Of course, when I’m working someone watches him, but it’s my baby and me,” Janet added.
The five-time Grammy Award-winner, shares Eissa with ex-husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana.
Jackson has been in the spotlight her whole life, but admits fame isn’t for everybody.
“You really have to be thick-skinned for this. You can really go in the wrong direction, there’s so much temptation, all kinds of crazy things.”
