Meghan Markle’s Onscreen Father Wendell Pierce Throws His Support Behind His Former Suits Co-Star

Actor Wendell Pierce has defended his former onscreen daughter – the now Duchess of Sussex.

Pierce played Markle’s father in the Netflix series Suits. He has voiced his support for the new mother following a slew of unfavorable headlines.

The 55-year-old played Robert Zane in the long running lawyer series.

He spoke on Good Morning Britain and revealed that he believes Ms Markle’s mother would have prepared her “the ugly side of human nature.”

Pierce also added that it was something “any mother raising a child of color would do.”

He affirmed that “millions care for her” and also revealed the last moment he had with the Duchess of Sussex.

Pierce told her: “Life is going to be very different.”

In the ITV documentary, Markle sadly revealed she was “not okay.”

The actor added: “In those tough times just remember you have a lot of people who care about you.”

He also reached out to the Duchess – even though he acknowledged it may be difficult.

“And that you know, protocol, we’re probably not going to be in touch with each other as much as you think. But just know you have a friend in me and that there will be a lot of people who care about you.”

“There are going to be people out there who do not have your best interest at heart but those are not the people you focus on, you focus away from them.”

He later joked that he would always be there to offer his support and said: “I’m her TV dad!”

The interview comes after after an insider revealed people from various countries have reported Meghan’s half sister Samantha Markle. She has allegedly made several disparaging comments against the royals.

“The allegations relate to numerous internet platforms and include complaints from at least four countries, including the UK, Canada and Sweden,” the source revealed.

“It is a large and widespread investigation and is likely to be a long process. The investigation is still at an early stage.”
