It’s hard to believe that such a close bond created in the womb could end so tragically.
Amanda Ramirez has been charged with aggravated manslaughter in connection to the stabbing death of her identical twin in Camden, New Jersey.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office say the unimaginable incident took place in the Centennial Village Apartments complex, on the 1200 block of East State Street.
27-year-old Ramirez is awaiting a pretrial hearing to determine whether she will be allowed to post bond.
She is accused of stabbing of her sister, Anna Ramirez, at around 5:30 a.m, Saturday, according to the New York Post.
Authorities rushed to the scene in Camden after receiving a call about an unconscious woman.
At the address they discovered Anna Ramirez with stab wound to her chest.
After being taken to Cooper University Hospital, she was sadly pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Meanwhile her sister, Amanda, was later arrested and taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
There has been an outpouring of grief for Anna on social media. Her online obituary describes her as a “devoted mother” of three daughters.
A GoFundMe page described her death as an “extremely painful and unexpected tragedy.”
Her heartbroken family say Anna was “loved by her peers” and was someone who possessed a “humble demeanor, kindness and willingness to give with a pure heart.”
There are three other sisters in her family apart from the twins.
The obituary also states that Anna “worked for many years in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant.”
When she was not a hardworking nurse she :enjoyed family dinners and weekly time hanging out with her sisters.”
Her funeral is set to take place on Thursday in Pennsauken.
Authorities in New Jersey have not yet released details about the motive in the stabbing.
