44-year-old Man Stabs Two Sisters To Death Following Nasty Breakup From One of Them

They say that people often do crazy things for love, but how do you rationalize the actions of an ex-boyfriend towards his ex-girlfriend?

In a shocking and unexpected twist of events, a man named Mark Lyczak has been arrested after he killed his ex-girlfriend and her sister on Saturday night.

They say that women are mostly at the risk of being on the receiving end of a lover’s violent actions when they split from said lovers. This was true in the case of Colleen Brownell and her sister Alysia McCloskey.

Unfortunately for Colleen Brownell and her sister, they have become a statistic in the ever-increasing number of women who suffer from domestic violence perpetrated by men.

Colleen Brownell could not have been expecting to see ex-boyfriend Mark Lyczak ever again after she moved in with her sister in New Jersey to get away from him.

Friends say Brownell had moved into her sister’s home to get away from Lyczak who was becoming increasing weird and displaying stalker tendencies after they split during the summer.

Colleen Brownell and her sister Alysia McCloskey were brutally stabbed to death inside a room in Alysia’s Collingswood, New Jersey home following Mark Lyczak’s murderous rampage.

According to reports, Mark Lyczak was also reportedly trying to kill a third woman inside the home but stopped after police officers stormed the scene.

Reports from the police department say that officers were called to McCloskey’s home at about 5pm local time after neighbors called 911 when they heard the women screaming.

Friends said Brownell had moved into her sister’s home, which is where McCloskey’s two children lived as well, to get away from Lyczak after they split during the summer.

Brownell had complained that her ex-boyfriend had become too overbearing and feared he would one day confront her following repeated bouts of stalking.

Those who were close to Coleen Brownell stated that she had a restraining order out against him, but moved in with her sister out of fear of living alone.

Mark Lyczak who turned forty-four last year, was still at the home when police arrived and he was taken into custody.

Even more bizarre is the fact that there are unconfirmed reports which indicate that the third woman, who was hospitalized due to her injuries, is Lyczak’s current girlfriend.

Brownell’s friends said she had been planning to quietly move to Florida and had been interviewing for jobs prior to the tragedy.

They said she had also recently connected with her twenty-six-year-old son who she had given up for adoption years earlier.

McCloskey’s two sons are now in the custody of their father.

‘Anyone who knew Alysia knows her children were her life, love, and whole heart,’ a GoFundMe page set up by Coleen Brownell’s friends to help her children read.

Lyczak has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first degree attempted murder.

He has been remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing.

The police have refused to comment on what is now an ongoing murder trial.
