When it comes to dream weddings it doesn’t get as big and as extravagant as this.
Folarin Alakija, the son of Nigerian oil billionaire Folorunso Alakija, married Iranian model Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifa in a lavish ceremony at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, this past weekend.
Alakija’s mother, Folorunso Alakija, is the vice chair of Famfa Oil, a Nigerian oil company.
She is one of the richest black women in the world, with an estimated fortune of $1.68 billion, according to Forbes.
In 2014, she knocked Oprah Winfrey off her post as the richest woman of African descent in the world.
The grand wedding was attended by celebrity guests, including Victoria’s Secret Model Shanina Shaik.
The couple married in front of a million white roses and had a live performance from singer Robin Thicke.
She tragically lost her life to cancer six years ago. It is believed that Folarin met Naz through friends in London.
The new Mrs Alakija has previously featured in a campaign for Monkee Jeans, an organic denim brand, and dated Rob Kardashian in 2013.
The new bride studied bioengineering and biomedical engineering at Manchester University – she also has a graduate diploma in law.
Nazanin stunned in a traditional strapless white gown with lace embellishment as she was walked down the aisle by her father.
She accessorised her look with a dazzling diamond necklace and white Manolo Blahniks.
The pair became engaged last year and had a traditional Nigerian wedding in Lagos in November.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
