Pop superstar Rihanna was overcome with emotion as she attended the funeral of her cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne.
The 21-year-old was tragically gunned down in Barbados over the Christmas period.
The ‘Wild Thoughts’ singer was seen wiping away tears at Tavon’s ‘celebration of life’ in Barbados on Tuesday.
Hundreds of her friends and family were in attendance to pay their last respects to the deceased young man.
The family all chose to wear white to say their final goodbyes to Tavon.
Rihanna was pictured dressed in the light color from head to toe.
The Grammy winner – real name Robyn Fenty – wore a sheer white midi dress. She paired it with Puma shoes with her initials ‘RF’ emblazoned in gold on the side.
The ‘Stay’ singer wore a pair of white vintage cat eye shades along with a large diamond cross necklace.
She also wore multiple gold bangles and carried along a white designer bag.
The 29-year-old’s dark hair flowed over her shoulders, with her sharp fringe covering her eyes.
Rihanna contrasted her white outfit with dark make-up including a black lip and smokey eye.
Two weeks ago Rihanna took to Instagram to pay tribute to her younger cousin.
The young man had spent Christmas day with his superstar cousin just hours before he was killed.
‘RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!’ the devastated singer wrote to her 59million Instagram followers.
‘Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!’
Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne was walking through the Eden Lodge area of St Michael’s in his hometown of Barbados.
This is when a gunman shot him several times at about 7pm on December 26.
According to Nation News, Tavon’s killer shot him several times before fleeing the scene.
Tavon was rushed to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Last week it was reported that police had arrested and charged a man named Shawayne Dashawn Williams in connection with the murder.
Williams, 23, was not required to plead and will next appear in court on January 31.
