Jay Z Admits He Cheated On Beyonce Before She Welcomed Their Twins And Sought Marriage Counselling

Jay Z has opened up about cheating on wife Beyonce.

The rap mogul admitted cheating on his superstar wife before they welcomed their twins.

The 48-year-old spoke about his infidelity while on David Letterman’s new talk show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

After famed talk show host David talked about his own indiscretions, the 4:44 hitmaker said:

‘I have a beautiful wife who’s understanding and knew I’m not the worst of what I’ve done.’

‘We did the hard work of going to therapy and you know, we love each other, right? So we really put in the work.’

Jay – whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter – also spoke about being ’emotionally crippled’ while growing up in the tough neighborhood of Brooklyn.

‘For a lot of us, we don’t have, especially where I grew up and men in general, we don’t have emotional cues from when we’re young,’ he said.

‘Our emotional cues, be a man, stand up, don’t cry.’

He then said he is working to make it better.

‘I want to have the emotional tools that it takes to keep my family together. And much like you, I have a beautiful wife who’s understanding and knew I’m not the worst of what I’ve done,’ Jay continued.

‘We did the hard work of going to therapy and you know, we love each other, right?’

‘So we really put in the work. For years, this music I’m making now is the result of things that happened already.’

The Empire State of Mind rapper added: ‘Like you, I like to believe we’re in a better place today. But we’re still working and communicating and growing.

‘And I’m proud of the father and the husband that I am today because of all the work that was done.’

Together Jay and Beyonce have Blue Ivy, six, and twins Rumi and Sir, almost one.

In November Jay also talked infidelity to T magazine.

‘We were using our art almost like a therapy session,’ Jay Z explained. ‘And we started making music together.

‘And then the music she was making at the time was further along. So her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on.’

Beyonce released Lemonade and Jay released 4:44.

‘There was never a point where I was like “I’m making this album.” It was right there the entire time.’ He added that there is still a lot of music left from their joint effort.

The name of the woman he cheated with – who has been referred to as Becky with the good hair  – has never been revealed.
