“First and foremost thank God because I definitely don’t have to be here,” Hart began his speech.

“Being that I am, it makes me appreciate life more. It makes me appreciate the things that really matter. I want to thank my wife and my kids. They really stepped up to the plate for me.”

The 40-year-old thanked People’s Choice Awards for the honor and was sure to thank his loyal fans for their support during his recovery.

“You have no idea the effect you have on us as entertainers; your energy, your support,” Hart confessed.

“It means the world and I truly want to thank you guys for being there for me in my difficult time; this is special. They all are, I do not take them for granted thank you so much.”

Hart was in a horrific crash in Malibu back on September 1. He has been undergoing physical therapy sessions to help him walk again.

Hart was in the passenger’s seat when the driver of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda lost control and drove off Mulholland Highway.

The car rolled down an embankment and slammed into a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol collision report obtained by USA Today.

Hart and the driver, Jared Black, sustained back injuries. A third person in the car was not seriously hurt.

Nearly two months after the accident, Hart made his return to social media with a video. He thanked his 81 million followers on Instagram and revealed his gruelling physiotherapy sessions.
